Professional Development - Technical Job Approval Authority
It is important to the NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission to ensure
that field staff has the adequate technical skills to implement
conservation practices. In an effort to further increase the capacity of
the division and district employees, the
commission has developed policies to grant job approval
authority for the following best management practices and skills.
SWCC Job Approval Categories
Below is the current approved categories. Click here to learn more about requirements for each individual category.
- Pond Site Assessment
- Sediment Removal Planning and Certification
- Water Need Assessments
- Backyard Rain Gardens (treats impervious areas < 2500 sq. ft.)
- Backyard Wetlands (treats impervious areas < 2500 sq. ft.)
- Cisterns (< 3,000 gal)
- Critical Area Planting
- Grassed Swales (if it falls under specific design thresholds)
- Impervious Surface Conversion
- Riparian Buffers
- Streambank and Shoreline Protection
Requesting SWCC Job Approval Authority
To request Job Approval Authority from the commission, you will need to complete the Request Form and send to Natalie Woolard, Technical Services Section Chief.
Current list of SWCC job approval authority recipients
The list of recipients for SWCC job approval authority is sorted by district. It contains the effective date of the authority and will continue to be updated after each commission meeting.
