Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler invites farmers and others interested in economics and ag policy to the eleventh annual Ag Development Forum. The event will take place Thursday, February 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Holshouser Building at the State Fairgrounds. Admission is free.
This year's forum features the Commissioner's annual "State of Agriculture" address, the vision of farm families and their preparation for the future, and an awareness of hunger and food insecurity.
Following the Forum, NCDA&CS will host an information session on the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Final Rules for Produce Safety, Human Food Preventive Controls and Animal Food Preventive Controls. This imformation session will provide industry and associated stakeholders with an opportunity to learn about the rules and ask FDA important questions. Compliance with these rules starts as early as next year and all interested parties are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity. You may sign up for the session on the registration page, as well as submit a question for the speakers.
The forum is being held in conjunction with the Southern Farm Show.
