Potato Promotions for 2007


NC Potato Association 79th Annual Meeting

The NC Potato Association 79th Annual Meeting will take place on May 21, 2007 in Elizabeth City, NC. The day will begin with a superball golf tournament and ends with an evening reception and banquet. A large crowd consisting of North Carolina potato growers, agribusiness representatives, and buyers from the East Coast and Canada are expected to attend. Entertainment for the evening banquet will be Dr. Wayne Ates, “Minister of Mirth” from Jessup, Ga. Prizes for the golf tournament are hole in one opportunities, closest to the pin, and gift packages for buyers. There will be complimentary hotel rooms available for attending buyers also.

2007 Albemarle Potato Festival

The 2007 Albemarle Potato Festival will be held May 19, 2007 along the waterfront of Elizabeth City, NC. It will be a fun filled day of kid’s games, “Little Miss Tater Tot” contest, educational displays, entertainment, free potato chips and French fries, and a potato peeling contest to decide the National Potato Peeling Champions.

2007 Canadian Produce Marketing Association Convention

The NC Potato Association will exhibit at the Canadian Produce Marketing Association Convention in Montreal, Quebec during May 10-11, 2007.


POS Materials
Posters and price cards featuring North Carolina potatoes are available for use in retail chains to help promote potatoes.

Brochures and Pamphlets
North Carolina potato brochures and pamphlets will be shipped to visitor centers and Farm Markets across the state. They will also be mailed out upon request and available for schools
