The Eastern Marketing Center is located in the heart of North Carolina’s most productive farmland. While parts of this region have always been known for their sweet potatoes and other vegetables, it is also home to some of the state’s most productive farms for strawberries, pecans, peaches and greenhouse vegetables.
Dexter Hill, Marketing Specialist, provides marketing assistance to growers, packers/shippers, and commodity associations representing these crops in order to assist with new market potential such as retail markets and niche markets not yet realized.
It is the responsibility of the Eastern Marketing Center to assist all the above groups with developing new and alternative market outlets as well as to continue to assist and promote all commodities within this region to better establish horticultural commodities located throughout eastern North Carolina.
