Wineries

From the mountains to the coast, North Carolina is home to a unique variety of grapes and wineries. North Carolina's first commercial winery was founded in 1835, and the state was the once the leading wine producer in the country before Prohibition. To read the entire story of our wine, see the history of North Carolina wineries.

Today, there are more than 100 wineries across the state, and three American Viticultural Areas (AVA's): Yadkin Valley, Swan Creek, and Haw River Valley. To view a map of all North Carolina wineries, view our interactive map at www.visitncwine.com/wineries.
