The Student Organic Farm at CCCC is the hands-on learning center for students studying sustainable agriculture. Visitors will see year-round organic vegetable production with hoophouses for season extension, heritage breeds of chickens and pasture-based meat rabbit systems.
The unique curriculum offered through the Sustainable Agriculture program has attracted students from throughout North Carolina, as well as many other states. The program provides both the small business and technical skills needed to develop and manage a profitable, environmentally sound and community-based small farm or agricultural business.
Visitors to CCCC can also learn about and experience green building design, renewable energy technologies and an on-site, Natural Chef culinary school, specializing in using fresh, local ingredients for healthful cooking.
