About US
Maple View Agricultural Center is a non-profit education facility designed by educators to teach children about agriculture in relation to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study in Science. Our center opened its doors in April of 2009. Since our opening we have served public schools, private, homeschoolers, and preschool groups. Our facility can accommodate up to 120 students by grade level at once. We also offer programs for adults, senior citizens and families. A reservation is required by phone 919-942-6122

Spring/Summer Classes ALL ABOUT THE DAIRY Our dairy science room offers facts and activities related to Maple View Farm. Students learn about the milking process, bottling process, butter production and ice cream production. Our classroom offers insight and interesting facts about dairy products, as well as behaviors, care and growth of Holsteins. Each student will receive a pencil and a What’s Up With Milk? coloring book. ALL ABOUT INSECTS Live specimens bring this room to life! Our room offers insects ranging from beautiful butterflies to Maddie, our Madagascar Hissing Roach. Topics range from the anatomy of insects to how insects are beneficial to agriculture. ALL ABOUT PLANTS Our plant classroom introduces students to seeds and plants. Lessons teach students about plant anatomy, germination, growing conditions, and environmental effects on plant growth. Fun and interesting facts about plant life cycles, production, and growth trends in North Carolina are taught in this lab.
