We are a small family farm located close to Parkton NC. Both my wife and I grew up working on our uncles farms. We think that a farm provides a wholesome place to live and grow a family. We started out with 4 acres in the 1980s and have gradually grown our farm as opportunities became available. I worked 30 years in the Goodyear Factory in Fayetteville NC . In 2013 I retired and started farming full time while my wife continues to work as a nursing consultant. Our children have all helped us on the farm, our youngest son is now a sophomore at NCSU as a poultry major and continues to help.
We have a variety of livestock that we raise that consist of cows, sheep, goats, pigs, and chickens. Our goal is to raise our livestock as natural as possible with a minimum chemicals. Our cows, sheep, and goats are rotationally grazed with a goal of eventually becoming 100% grass fed. We currently feed a small amount of grain daily to encourage good handling. They wean their young naturally. We do not spray our pastures with herbicides, only the fence lines are sprayed and then very sparingly. We do not use antibiotics in our feed. Our animals do not receive hormones. We like our animals and try to provide them a good quality of life.
We take orders on beef, lamb, and pork. We carry the livestock to a local abattoir where it is custom processed to the customers directions. The customer then picks up the processed meat from the abattoir. The meat is wrapped, labeled, and frozen at the time of pickup. We sell whole, half, and quarter cows. We sell whole and half pigs and lambs. The meat is priced according to the hanging rail weight that the abattoir charges the farm for processing the meat. We also sale live cows, pigs, lambs, and goats. Both the meat and the animals are only available at limited times during the year due to the way we grow our animals naturally.
