Mountain State Fair has record attendance for Ingles Day as it enters final weekend
FLETCHER – Good weather and a good cause drew a record number of fairgoers to the N.C. Mountain State Fair Wednesday for Ingles Day. The fair had 13,924 people come through the gates donating about 16,000 pounds of food to MANNA Food Bank.
“We’re thrilled to be able to partner with Ingles and MANNA Food Bank to help those in need in Western North Carolina,” said fair manager Matt Buchanan. “It’s great to have record attendance, but even better to know that we had a record donation to the food bank this year.”
There are still plenty of special promotions and events planned for the remaining four days of the fair. Thursday, ride enthusiasts can enjoy unlimited rides on the midway for $20. On Friday, senior citizens get free gate admission all day. In addition, the fair will offer another Friday Night Frenzy promotion that includes gate admission and unlimited rides for $20, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The 20th edition of the N.C. Mountain State Fair offers mountain fun for everyone. Visitors can enjoy a full weekend of livestock shows, see newborn calves in the Mooternity Ward, listen to a variety of local and regional musical acts, and even come face-to-face with sea lions and alligators.
