North Carolina's Arbor Day planned Friday
at State Farmers Market
| WHAT: |
The free event will feature forest-related exhibits, demonstrations and hands-on activities for the whole family. The Triangle Chapter of the Society of American Foresters will be passing out 1,000 dogwood and crabapple seedlings for planting.
In addition, the Stihl Timbersports Series will hold a televised qualifying round for its lumberjack sports contest. The competition consists of challenges based on historical logging techniques. The lumberjack event requires an admission fee. Admission is $10 in advance for adults and $15 at the gate. Children under 10 are admitted for free.

The N.C. Arbor Day Celebration is hosted by the N.C. State University Department of Forestry and Environmental Resources.
