State Farmers Market to host Valentine's Day Open House

The State Farmers Market will host a special event for couples and last-minute shoppers alike during its Valentine’s Day Open House. Couples can enjoy free samples of various North Carolina products, including meats, cheeses, homemade desserts and wine. Last-minute shoppers also can purchase their special someone a homemade gift basket, or create their own with an assortment of handmade soaps, lotions or fresh produce.
In addition, WQDR radio host Janie Carothers will be on hand to register people for drawings to win tickets to the Addams Family and Martina McBride performances at the Durham Performing Arts Center. |

While the market is busiest in summer months, it offers locally grown produce year round. Currently, visitors can find N.C. collards, sweet potatoes, pecans, greenhouse strawberries and tomatoes, as well as honey, fresh salsa, firewood and other seasonal products.
