N.C. Mountain State Fair offers ticket discounts

FLETCHER – The squeals, thrills and Ferris wheel won’t get cranked up at the N.C. Mountain State Fair until Sept. 7, but advance planning can save you money when the gates open. Discount tickets go on sale Aug. 1 at several area locations. Fairgoers can save $1 off gate admission tickets and 50 percent on ride tickets when purchased before the fair starts.

Advance prices are $6 for adults ages 13-64, $2 for children ages 6-12 and seniors ages 65 and older, and $5 for groups of 30 people or more. Ride tickets are $6 for a sheet of 12 tickets. Each ride requires four to six tickets.

Fair officials are again offering the popular Family Fun Pack for $30, which includes five gate admission tickets, tickets for four rides and discount vendor coupons for savings off popular fair foods.

“We had a great response to the Family Fun Pack last year,” said Matt Buchanan, manager of the N.C. Mountain State Fair. “It’s a great deal for families or individuals who plan to come multiple times. It’s really hard to go wrong with this offer.”

Advance discount tickets and the Family Fun Pack will be available Aug. 1 through Sept. 6 at area Ingles stores, the WNC Ag Center and the WNC Farmers Market in Asheville. Tickets will also be available online at www.mountainfair.org from Aug. 1 through Sept. 6. Online orders received by Sept. 2 will be sent by first-class mail. Online orders received after Sept. 2 will be available for pick up at the “Will Call” window located at Gate 6, Entrance A.

More information about the Mountain State Fair is available at www.mountainfair.org or by calling 828-687-1414.
