N.C. Mountain State Fair offers nightly rodeos Sept. 10-13
New addition to the entertainment lineup
FLETCHER -- There will be plenty of bucking, riding and roping this week as the N.C. Mountain State Fair hosts the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association for nightly rodeo shows, Sept. 10-13.
“We’re excited to add the rodeo to our nightly lineup of entertainment this year,” Fair Manager Matt Buchanan said. “It’s just one of the many free attractions visitors can enjoy as part of their admission.”
The PRCA rodeo will feature nightly competitions in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping and steer roping. About 10 regional and national cowboys are scheduled to participate in each contest. The rodeo will be held Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m., and Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Stampede Corral.
In addition to the rodeo, visitors will have the opportunity to see several professional bulls, including the 2,200-pound “Chicken on a Chain.” The exhibit, provided by Jeff Robinson Pro Rodeo and Professional Bull Riders, will be on display for the remainder of the Mountain State Fair.
The N.C. Mountain State Fair runs through Sept. 16 at the Western N.C. Agricultural Center. More information is available at www.mountainfair.org.
