Big Cart joins the Got te Be NC RV June 7-15 at the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament in Morehead City

WHO/WHAT: The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament lands the Got to Be NC Big Cart and Got to Be NC RV at the daily weigh-in station. Visitors will find information about North Carolina agriculture along with special prizes at the promotional vehicles. The Big Cart might be one of the few shopping carts that could accommodate the 400-pound-plus blue marlins that anglers are hoping for. The Big Cart measures 13 feet tall and 15 feet long and is equipped with a Chevrolet 396 V-8 engine. The sides of the RV are wrapped with the Got to Be NC logo and agricultural scenes. Both vehicles highlight the state’s No. 1 industry – agriculture.
WHERE& WHEN:  Big Rock Marlin Tournament weigh station
Morehead City Waterfront; daily
WHY:  Agriculture and agribusiness represent North Carolina’s leading industry, generating $77 billion for the economy and employing nearly a fifth of the state’s workforce. Got to Be NC Agriculture is the official state identity program for products grown and made in North Carolina. The RV and the Big Cart are two tools used to promote the ag industry and commodities produced here.

The Big Cart is the wildly popular marketing vehicle that has drawn attention to North Carolina’s agricultural products since 2006. The Big Cart travels across the state, making appearances at stores and special events and participating in numerous parades and shows.

In 2011, the department added the 2010 Tiffin RV. It serves as a rolling billboard for the state’s leading industry as it goes from stop to stop. The Big Cart and RV are made possible through the support of sponsors, which include: House-Autry Mills, Anne’s Flat Dumplings, Cheerwine, Golding Farms, Malt-O-Meal, Nature’s Own, Neese’s Country Sausage, N.C. Egg Farmers, N.C. Electric Cooperatives, N.C. Green Industry, N.C. Peanut Growers Association, the N.C. SweetPotato Commission and Agri Supply.
