Agricultural Statistics - Weather & Crops Report:
For the week ending July 26, 2009

 


GENERAL: The state received scattered showers last week.  Precipitation ranged from no rain to 2.78 inches in Lewiston. Average temperatures were below normal, ranging from 65 to 82 degrees. There were 5.8 days suitable for field work, compared to 6.0 for the previous week.  Statewide soil moisture levels were rated at 11% very short, 31% short, 54% adequate, and 4% surplus. Activities during the week included cutting hay and harvesting flue-cured tobacco.
