Cistern

Above or below ground storage tanks for rainwater harvesting systems used to collect and store rainwater.  They are intended to reduce stormwter runoff, encourage runoff infiltration and conserve water.

Maintenance Period
  • 5 years single-family home, 10 years all other properties

JAA/NRCS Standards
  • Less than 3,000 gallons: Cistern (SWCC)
  • Greater than 3,000 gallons: Requires a Professional Engineer stamped design

  • Most components are cost shared at 75% of average cost
  • Some components are cost shared at 75% of actual cost
