The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division fined four stores in Forsyth, Mecklenburg and Moore counties for price scanning errors.

RALEIGH – With the drop in temperatures and power outages remaining a concern in across Western North Carolina, residents are urged not to use outdoor grills, generators and heating devices indoors as the results can be deadly.

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ Standards Division has collected fines from nine stores in Alamance, Forsyth, Hertford, Mecklenburg, Moore, Wake and Union counties for price scanning errors.

RALEIGH — Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler today announced the promotion of Dr. Marcus Helfrich to director of the Standards Division. Helfrich previously served as program manager of the fuel quality laboratory. He replaces Steve Benjamin, who is retiring. The promotion is effective Nov.
