The Gov. James E. Holshouser Building was built in 1971 to serve the needs of the N.C. State Fairgrounds. Year-round the Holshouser Building hosts festivals, small conferences and trade shows, meetings, social events, and many other types of events.

This facility is mechanically heated, but is not air conditioned. Circular shape with windows around eave and exhaust fans assist with cross-ventilation. Floor fans are also available to assist with air circulation. - Seating: 900 for a banquet or 1,200 for a conference arrangement
