Standards - Weights and Measures
The Weights and Measures Section inspects weighing and measuring devices for accuracy (scales, scanners, motor fuel dispensers, fuel oil meters, and many other devices) and performs inspections of packaged goods to ensure that they contain the stated net contents.
When you see this seal on a fuel dispenser or meter, a scale, taxi meter or other weighing or measuring device it means it has been inspected by our program and was accurate and working properly on the date of inspection. Many businesses will notify our office when new equipment is installed as they want an inspection, with this sticker being posted, to provide consumers with some confidence in their purchases.
