Legal Affairs - Administrative Rules

The N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services administers and staffs several boards and commissions with rule-making authority, including the Board of Agriculture.

When adopting or amending any rules under the authority of the boards and commissions in conjunction with NCDA&CS, all guidelines laid out in the Administrative Procedure Act must be followed. This includes posted language proposed for adoption, amendment, etc. on the department’s website with publication in the NC Register. Proposed language by these entities to be published in the Register can be found by the public here.

For additional information regarding the rule making process and OAH procedures, please visit the Rules Division section of the NC Office of Administrative Hearing’s (OAH) website.
