Animal Waste Management Technical Assistance is available to all livestock producers. Assistance includes but is not limited to:
- Develop and revise waste utilization plans
- Wettable acreage determination
- Prepare a plan of action for permitted operations
- Conduct voluntary operation reviews
- Develop lagoon closure plans and providing oversight of project
- Provide technical guidance on nutrient management
- Sludge survey and waste sampling
Setting and certifying waste structure markers
Operation reviews are no longer a statutory requirement, however division staff are available to complete these upon request. These voluntary reviews may include review of operation records, waste storage structures and waste application equipment. Staff works closely with the local soil and water conservation district, NCDA&CS Agronomist, UDSA NRCS and NC Cooperation Extension Service to coordinate proper resources to address a producers specific concern.
