RALEIGH -- To celebrate National Hot Dog Day on Wednesday, July 19, Carolina Packers Inc. and the State Farmers Market are teaming up for a sizzling special event offering Bright Leaf hot dog samples, contests to win prizes, and free Bright Leaf goodies.
The celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the market’s event area located between the farmers building and the retail shops.
“This is the first time the market has hosted a hot dog-focused special event, but it gives us an opportunity to partner with one of our longtime Got to Be NC program members to showcase products that reflect the taste of North Carolina,” said State Farmers Market Manager Monica Wood.
For over 80 years, Carolina Packers Inc. has been offering quality, fresh, local products like hot dogs, Red Hots, sausage, bologna, chili, bacon, BBQ and more that have become a staple of many summertime cookouts and a fixture in grocery stores across the state.
“It’s easy to include North Carolina specialty products, meats, fresh fruits and vegetables on your grill and in cookout plans by looking for the Got to Be NC logo where you shop,” Wood said.
The State Farmers Market is open seven days a week, and offers a variety of seasonal produce, fresh meats, cheeses, wines, baked goods and more. For the home gardener, market vendors also offer plants, shrubs and flowers. The market is located at 1201 Agriculture Street, off Exit 297 from Interstate 40 in Raleigh.
