Structural Pest Control Reciprocal Certification Agreement
North Carolina only has structural pest control reciprocal certification agreements with Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Out of state credentials are only reciprocated to the Certified Applicator credential level. Certification in North Carolina does not allow you to perform structural pest control services for hire. Obtaining a structural license would be your next step if you wish to perform structural pest control services for hire. (See Structural Licensing & Certification for more information)
The reciprocal agreement is honored only if the individual has passed the exam(s) administered by one of the four states mentioned above and the credential is currently in good standing.
To obtain certification by reciprocity you must:
- Complete the Certified Applicator Card Application
- Mail photocopies of the front & back of your current KY/SC/TN/VA credential with the completed application and a $50.00 check, to:

- Certified applicator cards are not prorated; all CA cards must be renewed annually by June 30th and recertified every 5 years, if the applicator is to continue working without interruption.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing reciprocation requests.
