Repair & Renovation Projects to existing buildings or structures belonging to NCDA&CS are a major part of what P&C does. As our infrastructure ages, these type of projects help our existing facilities maximize their lifecycle so that it can operate and function as long as possible.

Every year natural disasters (Hurricane, Wildfire, Flooding) usually have a major or minor effect on NCDA&CS's facilities. Sometimes it needs to make immediate decisions in relatively short periods of time. With the help of the facility users, the Construction division takes the necessary steps needed to bring the facility back on time so they can continue to serve the citizens of NC. Damaged or deteriorated building need inevitable repairs to prolong the life of the structure.  In general, after discussing with facility managers and knowing the history of the building, the Construction division determine the type of renovation project necessary to help the facility. Projects are divided into three major categories:

  1. Emergency repair
  2. Minor Repair and Renovation
  3. Major Repair and Renovation

Ignoring and/or delaying repairs to damaged structure may lead to an increase in the cost of repairs and may even collapse the structure.  Proper maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure ultimately increases  increase  the strength, stability and durability of the building and provides an overall cost benefit to NC agribusiness.
