Prior to Daniel's 20 years of experience with in the Dept. of Agriculture as well as a B.S. in Agriculture Education, Minor in Horticulture Science and a M.Ed. Agriculture Education, he spent a lot of time on the family farm growing up and started farming himself at age 16 growing and selling vegetables.

The center of what Daniel loves the most about being a Regional Agronomist is the people he gets to serve. Most are thankful to have an advocate and a helper that is trying to help them become more profitable. Innovative farmers that like to try new practices on their farm to be more successful excites him and finds it rewarding to be a part of that experimentation and success.

Daniel says "Being a Regional Agronomist challenges me every day. It seems when I think I have seen it all, something new comes along to make me learn something new. One of the greatest aspects of the job is the diversity of the crops that I get to deal with. I tell people that I deal with all crops, from apples to zucchini."
